Simple Midtone Orange Lipstick

I am no good with bright lipstick, but I could not help being attracted to it especially ORANGE believing that I might be able to carry it off. I have searched and searched for the best way to wear orange lipstick, googling for tutorials and celebrities pictures that can inspired me and without looking too dramatic.

Alas, the only way I found best is definitely to keep it simple.
It really depends on your skin tone, the orange you choose and the effect you want.
I want to have that edgy effect of orange in a elegant way.

Inspiration:

after seeing Tessa Thompson, I have sudden urge to wear my orange lipstick more often

I am not really into that ultra sexy bronze goddess look that would be achievable with warm gold bronzy smokey eyes, this look is what most tutorials and celebrities go for . But it is just too much for me, the orange is already bright enough for me. In addition to that, matching clothes and headscarf would be very tricky. You can go bright and light if you're up for it. But I really think the best colour to wear is definitely black like how you love the contrast in girls with dark black hair.

So I am just sharing with you guys how I would wear a midtone orange lipstick especially now that we're in spring/summer.

I opt for a dark brown headscarf instead of black just because of the top I am wearing and that there is no black at all in this outfit. But I tried before with black outfit and it probably match the best.

Base makeup: 

Wear foundation that match your skin and conceal as needed. 

Cheeks:

I definitely avoid blusher even the peachy one. It might look good but just not my style. I just go for bit of bronzers. Contour and sheer highlight as usual. 

EYES:

Just kept the lid bare, with just foundation/concealer or matte skintone eyeshadow.

Then contour slightly on crease and outer corner of the eyes.

I also put a bit of nude liner in waterline and sheer shimmer on inner corner for brightening 

Then the BLACK eyeliners. Go thicker if you want bolder. I definitely think a bit flick at the end compliment this look.

LIPS:

 Lined with orange lipliner followed by a midtone orange lipstick, a bit more toned down orange. I used MAC Mouth Off lipliner and MAC Alibi lipstick. Orange brown like MAC chili without the red. But unfortunately discontinue? or is it just available in certain place, because I think I remember my mum still buys this back in Malaysia, it's her favourite. On her fairer skin it looks like a mature brown orange. On me it can look a bit clownish, hence a bit tricky to wear. Generally orange can look too bright and clownish on me. My orange need some brown in it. 

Review: MAC Lipstick in Chili

This is another review of MAC Lipstick. I admit, I am a MAC junkies, I couldn't help it.

Whenever I found a 'cool' unique shade of MAC Lipstick or even the lip pencil, it is so hard to find a similar/same shade from other brand.  One of those lipsticks are MAC Chili.

Price: £15.50 (Is it me or MAC lipstick has been increasing in price? - I thought taken over by big company Estee Lauder should make it more affordable... heh...) 

Personal Experience:

Colour:

I really like how MAC describes this shade and the name of the lipstick totally matches. For some reason I can imagine chillies being roast giving that 'burnt' colour.

This is a good mix orange, red and brown.

The brown in the shade definitely muted down this shade and totally matches my style. Until now I haven't found anything similar or anything close to this. On the tube you definitely see that it is an obvious orange lipstick but very muted and still enough red to give a vampy look. For me this is a new take on muted red lips or a brownish red. 

I can definitely pair this with soft smokey eyes or if I'm bold enough a darker neutral/earthy tones smokey eyes. 

This is definitely a colour to look for those who want a tone down red orange. Very flattering on warm skintone. But in my book, your undertone should not be the only thing that decide what lipstick your wear. Match lipstick to your hair, clothes or your accessories, nails etc... no rule in makeup. I believe as long as you have something warm eg. cool tone girl with a blonde or warm brunette hair or green or brown eyes definitely can rock this.

Texture and Finish:

Matte finish but not crayon like, not flat matte. There is a very slight creaminess to it but still have that dry matte effect. It is not one of those revolutionary formula light as air but it is what it is a classic MAC matte lipstick formula.

How it wears all day: 

This is definitely smooth to apply and absolutely pigmented like ALL of MAC matte lipstick. There is no feathering and no drying.

It last all day and fade into softer colour. Give you that extra 'effortless' look... like "yeah, I wear red lipstick everyday." if you know what I mean. 

Easy to remove and no stain. It is what a classic lipstick should be. 

So overall rating: 4.9/5.0

Review: MAC lipstick in Russian Red

If I think of RED LIPSTICK, the first that jump into my mind is definitely MAC Russian Red.

Truly a classic red, favourite of Gwen Stefani, the Queen of Red Lipstick, this lipstick is a universal red and I believe all skintone can pull it off.

In the picture above I was pretty much wearing Russian Red on my lips on top MAC Lipliner in Redd, no fancy eye shadow or blusher. Just bit of contouring and highlight and brow gel to set my brows.

I usually wear MAC lipliner in Redd or Brick Red.

Russian Red - Intense bluish-red [Matte] 

Personal experience:

I truly love this! and I have tried many type of reds from a number of brands. Despite having one lips and lots of lipsticks, if this ever runs out or went missing, I will definitely repurchase.

Texture and finish: 

Applied smoothly and matte, but not dry and chalky.

I admit it's not one of those modern formula that felt light as air, but this is a classic and feel like one.

I personally prefer this more than MAC lipstick in Rubywoo. 

Colour: 

MAC Russian Red is more neutral red, I would not necessary says it's warm, I think it depends on wearer skintone. On me the warm in my skin resonate and appear warm and I seen pictures of other people and looks more blue red. So it has that balance between blue and yellow undertone.

Comparing side by side with Revlon Really Red and Topshop Hazard, MAC Russian Red is definitely more neutral or appear 'bluer'. But next to Ruby Woo, Russian Red is warmer.

Texture and colour are the reason I chose Russian Red instead of Rubywoo. 

How it wears all day: 

This wear so good and last really long without making my lips dry. 

Seriously. Even on applying, I really like how it felt like I am painting my lips in a good way. No feathering and no flaking. Before this I thought Revlon Really Red is good enough, but MAC lipstick is definitely on another level. Not only it last long, if it is ever going to fade, at the end of the day or if I am having a meal, it leaves off a good stain, a true red stain not pink which usually happen with blue red. Oil from food would not erase this lipstick straight away.

So overall rating is 4.9/5.0

Ladylike with Dark Purple Plum Lips

note: these are old pictures... like waaaayyy old.

Now, I don't remember what year was it, but there is this one time, beauty/fashion industry was starting really appreciating very dark purple lips.Following that 'trend' now a lot of women of general population are pulling off dark purple lips casually. Prior to this, dark purple lipstick is usually associated with 'halloween' 'goth' 'punk' 'sci-fi' etc etc... lol and even I generally would not go for purple on lips.... 

However it really interesting how  they take this with a 'modern' twist. despite the usual goth- punk 'image' portrayed with this lips, they(the industry) came up with something so 'ladylike'... despite the darkness of the colour on lips, the whole look is actually soft. This is interesting. I'm all into very dark lips and 'purple' could be a great experiment.

So I got this palette from MAC, the 6 Select Plums Pro Lip Palette for some time and this was the only palette that have all the shades that I don't own in a tube. Since I saw Cyber (bottom left), I just couldn't stop myself thinking about attempting this look. From the palette, you can clearly see how much more purple and dark it is... and you practically need to be a 'zombie' to wear this 'naturally'.

Let me be honest, it is hard to pull off Cyber looking ladylike especially if you compare to Hang Up (the shade next to it), it is more dramatic, 'punk-y' *?*  and it is so dark and so purple but trust me it is achievable.

So I hope this post help you guys not to shy away from trying this lip colour. 

Complexion:

As dark purple lipstick could be very dark and dramatic, having a much more 'tanned' and 'dark' skin will ease the 'goth' effect of wearing this colour. So I don't have much problem with my skin tone, but those with fair with cool undertone skin, you could try to bronze up a bit, and that actually make this less 'harsh' on your skin tone. It is also great if you have blonde or ginger hair or in my case I opt for warm beige headscarf. 

I think cheek colour would be too much personally but people might feel it put the whole look together, so if you want go with a more soft 'mauvy' 'plum blusher or even something rosy as we can add to that 'ladylike' effect.

Eyes:
I just maintained my usual eyebrow with eyebrow gel and bit of dark brown shadow.

I primed my eyelid top and bottom with MAC Paint Pot in Painterly and start with matte light cream eyeshadow. Then I contour with matte midtone brown MAC Cork to enhance the contour which would be the socket, lower lashline.
The the important ladyline effect would be a simple black winged eyeliner only on the top lashline.
Highlight the inner corner with light shimmer shadow and you could put white or cream or light shimmer in the waterline.
I finish off with black mascara.

Lips:

As I mentioned above, I used MAC Cyber and I lined with lipliner I think MAC Dervish. 

I would wear darker purpler lipliner if I have but I don't and I want to finish using MAC Dervish.

In conclusion I would advice a lipliner to give of a cleaner finish and I think Cyber really work best as opaque and with clean edges. Finish!

Ok gila! Can't believe I'm in second semester of 4th year! And  4th year is crazy annoying, after every block there is assessment. Good news, I pass semester 1 exam and that include paeds and psych which is good. Hopefully I can finish this year without any resit. I also realized many of my friends is finishing this year as well, ahh man... sedih but I'm still happy for them all.

2 in 1 post - How to Bright Pinks lips and Review: Lipstick Queen Sinner Lipstick in Pink

To be honest I can't really remember the real reason I bought this lipstick...

I know I was entering Space NK to look for an everyday kind of shade of Nars Matte Velvet pencil... but I was 'pulled' by the SA for this... hmmm. Now this might sound like my fault for not being outspoken about I actually want but actually I was drawn to this range as well.

The Sinner Lipstick range by Lipstick Queen is probably all I ever wanted in a tube of lipstick,

Sinner Lipstick in Pink, MAC Prep+Prime Lips, MAC Dervish lipliner, Eco-tools lipbrush

Matte, pigmented, no shimmer... totally my style. But the problem here would be the colour that I was matched to.

It is delusional to count this lipstick in Pink as my 'my lips but better' (MLBB) shade or a neutral, because it looks BOLD pink on me  [full stop].  I feel that I should have never got it in the first place... It looks good (enough) .. but bright bold pink just personally normally not my style. Plus I already had MAC Pro Longwear Lipcreme in Unlimited and that is enough. I was more looking for more muted, low key pink, something like MAC lipstick in Spirit. MAC Spirit is perfect especially with Whirl lipliner.. but I never really wear it, because I just want to get rid of this bold pink lipstick and wear it often 'RELUCTANTLY'... 
You wouldn't want to waste a 20 pounds lipstick right... erghhh (annoyed).

Sinner Lipstick in Pink - too bright for my taste

As I wear it often, I can fully judge its texture. Now I don't know if I really like it. It is matte and it does not transfer much, and probably this is what the SA meant that this line has like a 'latex'-like substance so it just stick on.

But sometimes I felt it is a bit too dry... I wonder if the colour make the texture felt worse, look all dry and chalky. So as often I would wear it (to get rid of it) the more hatred I have for it, so at one moment where I just felt I look too tacky wearing it... I end up tossing the lipstick in the bin.. hahaha! (please.. I am still recovering from the fact I toss away a 20 pounds lipstick)
I would probably like this lipstick in darker shade, like a dark brick red or a burgundy.That would be perfect as those non-transferable lipstick.
On the other hand, I still like this brand, and the packaging is really nice, matte tube with gold print label, tightly sealed and you wouldn't find this lipstick without the lid when you just throw it into handbag.

So overall, I would give still give a 2.5 / 5, (a bit higher just because I believe I would love the darker shades). Unless you really want that bright bold 'dry' pink lipstick, go for the pink shade...

If you feel your PINK lipstick looks TOO BRIGHT/ BOLD but you know it's not really your style. So to tone down the 'bright' pink bubble gum look, just tone down everything else...Say no to pastel obviously.
Cheeks: Do not do pink blusher or any blusher at all. I just stick to contour and warm highlights.

I think this was edited in my phone and other pics was edited in my laptop,
so it's a bit different in the undertone and temperature.

Eyes: Stick with warm earthy tone on the eyes and no black eyeliner (even for darker skin, go for the darkest brown expresso like liner you can find but no black).

I used a light gold syadow on lid with matte brown (MAC Cork) in the crease to contour, a dark brown pencil eye liner on upper lashline with a bit of flick at outer end. (a bit of cat/kitten flick is a must for me)

Since I wear a bit of green in my headscarf, I use this N' 7 Metallic Eyes Pencil in Bronze on my waterline and apply a bit thicker in the inner corner. It has a kind of a 'khaki' undertone, a bit different from a typical copper and I like the shimmery 'twinkly' effect on the inner lower lashline.It gives a nice 'bohemian' touch to my whole look and make me forget about how bright my pink lipstick is. 

OR another style...
Instead of earthy tone eyes, keep the eyes clean and go for 60's inspired look with solid black eyeliner on top lashline and a pronounced cat flick to take up a notch. (Inspiration from MAD MEN especially Betty Draper/Francis. *love*)

Red Lipstick overview - My pride possessions (and obession)

I've been contemplating on how to do this post.... the thing is I miss the timing of making the post.
I wish I had done this sooner, now that my lipstick 'collection' has grown a lot it's kinda pressured to be doing a lipstick collection post... it was suppost to be a continuation from the First post  which I made about red lipstick... but then again I just made a review on my first red lipstick just a few months ago... lol

Nevertheless.... I thought this overview might be the first steps to get into posting about my lipstick, which I should since they're like what I crazy most. I might go crazy about an eyeshadow, but I go serious lunatic when it comes to lipstick.

So first of all these are my lips makeup 'tray/drawer'.

Lips makeup: Top Left- Lipliner and primer, Top Right- Lipgloss/stain/cream, Bottom Left: Red/Dark lipstick , Bottom Right: Neutral/Nudes

Obviously I have more reds and deeps compare to nudes neutrals, I just prefer them and they just sit more nicely on my lips.

So for this post I will comment a bit on my 'ultimate' red lipsticks and a few other red lipsticks, hopefully I continue on to other type of red or deep lipstick, my neutral/nudes and even my lipliner. I will definitely try to post individual review as well from time to time, maybe doing this post will remind me to wear these lovely lipstick more.

So first of all my ultimate red lipstick would be the Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet in La Somptueuse and NARS Semi Matte Lipstick in Fire Down Below. I just love these two that I still kept them in the their outer package. These are the two lipsticks which give me the feel of luxurious especially the Chanel one, and this Chanel one is the most expensive lipstick I ever bought and followed by the Nars one. Because of the price it explains why I didn't wear them much, thus have not reviewed them yet until now... hehe *excuses*

Nars Semi Matte and Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet

Ultimate favourite reds - Left: Fire Down Below (NARS), Right: La Somptueuse (Chanel)

La Somptueuse is a deep warm red, which I can't really describe exactly how, it seems warm, muted, deep intense red, but it's not really a brick red and it's not really a burgundy, it's not bright but it's not really dark, it's really the right balance. I can wear this freely day and night without any adjustment needed. It last long and leave a flattering stain.. The formula is really good, despite being matte, it feels light and not crayon-like which is the usual for matte lipstick. I felt like nothing is on, but it's there and very pigmented.

This is quite new, my first Nars lipstick. From the swatch you can see how similar Fire Down Below is to La Somptueuse, it's really by an accident. I guess, I just drawn to these types of colour, and my friend like tease how my lipstick colour give that 'gothic' vibe... lol... I'm flattered hahaha!. This give that deep intense warm red lips, but by comparison this is more warm or browner than La Somptueuse. It's a semi-matte so again it's not really flat matte and it's texture is not really thick, but still very pigmented.

Now to the other reds.

I was very disappointed when I first got the MAC Pro Longwear Lipcreme in Prolong, I thought it was at least a neutral red and could be my ultimate red lipstick since it's in a longwear formula... but it's actually a very blue red and it's quite loud *like MAC amplified cream formula*. That time I didn't really appreciate blue reds but I opened my mind now. I love how this look great in the summer when I took it to my last summer trip to Seoul.

Topshop Lips in Hazard is definitely something I buy influenced by this beauty youtuber Barbara, The Persianbabe.  It's not expensive so I don't have to think much when I bought it. It'a a neutral red and look more warm on me, although Revlon Matte Really Red would be warmer. This is more creamy than matte, but after you pat with tissue, it still give that 'matte' look. This is easier to wear since it's more creamy and I love the stain it leaves.

MAC lipstick in Russian Red is the latest addition, and I just love it for being the iconic red lipstick. Although I was hoping it is more warm. Again it's a blue red but not as 'blue' as the MAC's Prolong. I love that it's matte but not as drying as Revlon's Really Red. The shade is quite intense deep, but not really if you are dark. I probably will love this in the summer as I  did with MAC's Prolong.

I think I have mention this Revlon Matte Lipstick in Really Red before, so you guys can check out my proper review on this. On me it looks most warm compare to the other 3 reds.

As time goes by, I had tried out a lot more lipstick and I started to open my mind about lipstick especially the reds and deeps. Wearing red or deep coloured lipstick does need some attitude (confident), you can make it 'effortless' and classy if you more of a easy-going lay-back style *like me* or you can go for that 'I'm Fierce!'  or rebellious attitude. It's always hard to start trying them at first especially those with fairer skintone, but you just have to go for it. Maybe some *even your friends* might point out to you, you feel embarrass and it's annoying bla bla bla... but as long as you remember it's just makeup, it shouldn't bugged you much. If it doesn't work, maybe you're just not into reds and deeps, it's not meant to be, no big deal, lol. 

I will post another overview on the other deeps and reds I have and hopefully starting to review this lipsticks, which mean, I should also start to wear them out more often! *I'm so glad it's summer!*

NARS Pro Prime Multi-Protect Primer SPF 30+++ GBP25.00

I've been looking out for a new primer since I'm running out of my MAC Prep+Prime. I was interested in NARS and it seems perfect that it also has SPF 30 with PA+++. It is so hard to come by a primer that has the same sun protection.

NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser in Cuba and St. Moritz GBP 28.00 each

This is not really me to get a tinted moisturizer, but suddenly when I started to wear Origins Vitazing sample, I thought tinted moisturizer would be practical to have. This was quite a hype when it come out and I like that it provide more coverage than expected. But too bad when I first bought Cuba, it was a bit too dark to my liking. So I bought  St. Moritz just because I want to lighten it a bit. 

NARS Semi matte Lipstick in Fire Down Below GBP 18.50

This purchase is just simply an impulsive red lips purchase. I know I got a few already, but I just couldn't help it. At first I thought getting the Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella but I thought it might be similar to what I have already so I chose this, as it was describe as a blood red with no blue, something new. When I got it it's kind of similar to my Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet in La Somptueuse but it's more brownish. I was kind of annoyed but oh well.

NARS Shimmer Eyeshadow in Ashes to Ashes GBP 18.00

I want to try NARS eyeshadow and I was not sure what kind of I should go for and I chose this colour and I think it's easy to pull off but at the same time look a bit different. It looks a bit mushroom, but it's more of plummish medium brown. Some say's it's like a lighter MAC Satin Taupe which I agree and it's great because I don't have medium cool brown.

NARS Cream Eyeshadow in Savage GBP 17.00

Ok this is what I had hope MAC Paint Pot in Rubenesque would be, a warm brown. This is the colour I thought I just can slap it on my lids and walk out the door. It's shimmery warm bronzy brown but not too dark so it brighten my lids. Now I'm not sure of its longevity and if I need to set it with a powder *hopefully not* but I will keep you updated.

REN Micro Polish Cleanser GBP 20.00

I first heard about REN from amodelrecommends and I like that the 'orange' range is glycolic acid rich. Now I've been a fan of DermTV Dr. Schultz and he always mention glycolic acid as the gold standard for exfoliation. Now I almost want to get the glycolic mask but I thought I already have too many mask so I opted for their exfoliator instead. We'll see how it goes and this is not so much a physical scrub like Origins Modern Friction, so I think that would be nice.

Now on the shoes!! I don't know why exactly but Clarks been coming out with something I would really really like. Before this I always think of Clarks to get a comfortable good quality leather footwear, but for style statement..? not really... oh well.

Clarks Lulworth Beach GBP 39.99 (after discount)

This black suede lace ankle boot made me almost jump when I see it in  the website. Not only that, it's quite pointy and the lace give kind of 'vintage' effect. Not only that the short heels is just good enough a bit of height but still be comfortable. I was actually inspired by Natalie Off Duty where she had this suede lace up Modern Vice boots in different colours. I was actually considering other colours and Clarks had this blue gray, but I thought it would not standout and black even though it's common but it can stand out better. I was quite worried about the sizing because past experience with Clarks, I'm always not satisfied. But I take my chances and I'm glad I did, the size was perfect and I don't even need a wide fit size. Happy!

After getting those fabulous black suede boot, I was hooked again when 'grandpa' slippers is seen a lot on fashion bloggers/vloggers.... and again Clarks caught me with this leopard print. I've seen leopard print flats before but I never get a chance to get it and Clarks has open a pathway for me. It's so chic and can be very casual and you know how I am with leopard print, I just had to get it. It's leather with hairs so it does have the texture and sheen of hair, I love it! Again no sizing issue!

Now last but not least....the latest addition *about a 1-2 weeks ago*! I can't remember how but I'm so glad I tried this out. Okay since I came to the UK brogues seems more common whereas in Malaysia it seems more as fashion forward. Not sure why but I always think I can't pull it off. Forward to the recently, I just thought I want to take a look at Clarks for a loafers because the Barrats synthetic one I had is falling apart. Even though I already had one from Hush Puppies but the styles was not quite the same. After I look at a few loafers they had I was beginning to argue on why I should get this or that... until I thought try another style and brogues suddenly come to mind *especially when Clarks is doing a lot of it*. I thought yeah, how about that and Natalie Suarez wears brogues *she's my footwear inspiration!* ... LOL, influenced much? To make it more interesting I chose the one with the cut out and weaving details since I chose a usual tan colour. I'm just glad I got it, it's flats so comfortable and it's leather, so I didn't have that 'regret' when I got the my Barratts flats loafer which I hoped was a leather. It look so great with a skinny and I can even wear this in quirky style, *look at picture below*....

Review: Revlon Matte Lipstick Really Red

When I'm starting getting into makeup, one of the look that I was really drawn to is the matte red lips. That time I still can't afford MAC or other high end brand and back in Malaysia that time, there aren't any decent red lips and there was NO matte lipstick range. So when Revlon come up with the Revlon Matte Lipstick, I fall heads over heels with it!

Now I had a hard time to convince myself to get it since I wasn't financially well *compare to now, lol... bless you student loan!* and plus the salers at Watson (a drugstore in Malaysia) isn't helping much at all ... keep on saying I should stick to pinky and nude blah blahhhh... you see that time, the RED LIP is not trendy at all, it was still associated with mature women and probably rebellion teenagers... even Malaysian celebrities or artist do not spot a red lips ( but that was back in the those day, now many Malay girls spot a red lips... maybe because of Yuna Zarai?)

Moving on to this lipstick, (skip all the awkwardness trying to wear red lips back in college),
it was one of the best I ever had. It's really red, hence the name Really Red and it's the right amount of being not too bright or too deep. I haven't found red lipstick of the same shade, some say it's a dupe of MAC Rubywoo but I'm not too sure, since Rubywoo can be a bit too cool? but I don't have that so I'm not sure.
All in all, Revlon really nail this shade!

Other than that, I think the red is almost neutral and I think it looks a bit warm on me because of my warm skintone. I really like how it does not look pink on me even if I make a stained lips. For me it is a basic red lipstick to have. You can go for pale red stain or you can go bold matte red or you can top clear gloss over it.
Now saying that it's a basic red lipstick I love layering this over other stuff,
I love it with Revlon Colorburst in Sienna to achieve that brick-red stained lips,
I love it MAC Lipstick in Alibi to make it more red orange,
and recently,
I love it under Tony Moly Tony Tint in Red Apple for that ultra deep stained but not dark red lips,

all these look are matte which always the lip looks I prefer and definitely look more edgy compare to a typical red which many *Malay girl* is spotting.
It's inevitable that I branch out to different kind of reds and other deeper colour, I can't believe myself as well when I look into my lipstick drawer.

The formula is really matte and it's actually a drying matte I would say. So if you have a dry lips, lip balm is a must, because it can be flaky. Probably those with not so dry lips would not have this problem.
Being a dry matte, it does not feather at all. This is very important when you spotting red lips, you don't want it outside of your lips. Although I notice it does not last that long and if you have an oily meal, you might as well just wipe it clean and apply it again after eating, cause it's hardly last, well for me. What I'll do is layer it up, that is to wear it, blot with tissue, powder it and layer it again, and do it at least 3 times. That will give the best long lasting result. Wearing red lipliner is helpful as well, and I use MAC lipliner in Redd if I'm wearing its true shade.

The packaging is okay, nothing fancy and does not have that cheap look, though it does not look expensive as well. The top is clear so you can see through what lipstick it is like most of Revlon Lipstick.
Since it's a drugstore brand it's definitely more affordable, GBP 7.49, but I say nowadays many brand has come up with decent matte red lipsticks and probably cheaper. So more options and you can try compare them and find which is the best for you. Since it's quite cheap, it's a good way for experiment if you have not try red lips before but interested.
The question now is will I repurchase? I'm not so sure since I have loads of red lipstick now and I'm still greedy to try other brands as well, but I cannot deny this is a very good staple.

Favourites #2 Biker and Army Jacket, Lips in Beguiled, Boss Nuit

It's been a while since I come up with a favourite post. I had my list long ago, but it's been a long while ago that I don't feel like raving about it anymore. Then, now I am in my holiday, I realize I don't have much current favourites, I don't wear much makeup lately so that's not helping, I don't even dress up much as well. But I still try to dig out some of the stuff that I've been loving lately. Despite the difficulty I had to try to find something I like, I had actually shopped a lot and I don't think I ever want or even manage to do a full haul post on it.

So I've been crazy on Topshop for the past few months and had purchased some stuff there including the makeups but later for that. I just want to keep this post short and simple.

Topshop Tall Biker Jacket GBP 50.00+

This is all thanks to one of my friend that's been obsessing over her biker jacket, and those fashionista youtubers who always feature a biker jacket. Actually, I was never into this kind of jacket. It's a fitted style, so it's the opposite of me who always goes for oversize for my torso. 

But after a few visit to the store and trying out the jacket I decided to try and I actually was about to purchase the real leather one which is GBP 165.00 *oh my god! I know*, but my sanity hold me back and ask me to try the pleather (PU) one first and if I really like the style then go for the real leather next time.

SO how is it? I totally fall for this style, I wish I had the real leather one. The one I bought is for tall, so it's a bit longer for me, but I still like it and I really think this was a very very successful experiment!It's just PU,  but it doesn't look cheap at all, so I like that. The one I bought actually had a fur collar with it, but I hate that and took it off. I can't wait to find the chance to buy a real leather one. 

I just love to layer it with cardigans, or hoodies and even over thick knitwear, totally cozy! It definitely give out that 'cool' factor to your outfit and better yet, it's good for all year round in Belfast.

Topshop Plain Khaki Army Jacket GBP 40.00

Another jacket, great for layering, the army jacket! Another good one from Topshop. I thought of trying out the camouflage print one, but it's just seems hmmmmm tooo trendy? hahaa! So I thought just a plain green khaki would be more subtle to jump into the army loose jacket trend.

Same as the above jacket, it's really great for layering and give off that cool laidback plus androgynous look, I love that! This is definitely an alternative to my thick knit outerwear which I wear usually during fall/spring, and when it's get colder I add up another layer under it.

Topshop Lips in Beguilded GBP 8.00

This is one of those impulse purchase *not surprising at all, I always buy a new lipstick '-.- * when I look at the colour, it just scream me! It's dark plum and actually I was kinda pissed off at myself because the colour is almost the same as Diva from MAC, and I hardly use much of Diva. So this actually can be a dupe for MAC Diva except that Beguiled is slightly more purplish compare to Diva more reddish. One thing I don't like at first is the fine light reflective particles that give off a 'sheeny' creamy look, but then when I wear it and pat it with tissue, I totally love the finish. It quickly gives off that matte 'stained' look, like you just had a lot of ribena *or wine for those who drinks*.  So I just keep on reaching for this one especially when the colour really suits the fall winter palette. Wear it bare with just mascara or darker with soft smokey eye or even with black flicked cat-eye, it will look lovely! Plus, for darker girl like me, I never felt it's overpowering.

Hugo Boss - Boss Nuit Pour Femme 75ml 

(GBP50.00+ I can't remember the exact price, I got it at duty free)

I got this fragrance at Heathrow duty-free when I was on my way back to Belfast. The sales assistant actually had a hard time trying to find fragrance that I like, I was asking for some heavy strong scent but florally. She let me tested some of the popular floral scent including the Marc Jacobs one with the ladybug packaging. But I wasn't really hooked and the idea of many people having it kinda put me off. Then she show me this one, one of the latest one. It's quite pricey, but if I bought the 75ml bottle I got a free black clutch bag. The clutch is actually very decent, so I really think it was worth it. 

Boss Nuit is just fresh, florally, quite strong but not too overpowering which I find really suits for class. It also last long which I expect from an EDP formula. At the end of the day it left me smell fresh and decent, not so 'sexy' or seducing *which is the usual case for strong fragrance*, so that's why I feel it's suits for class and work, a very professional smell.  It has aldehydes and peach for top note, heart notes of white flowers, jasmine and sensual violet. The base notes consists of crystalline moss and creamy sandalwood. The packaging is nice in a tall black bottle with crystal top, simple and classy.

So that's all for now, I'll be paying more attention to my favourites from now on. Since it's holiday, I definitely will develop other posts for my blog and keep it active, so look out for more! Have a great winter holiday!
